Getting Started

Grand Strategy is a turn-based strategy game for two to eight players. The first player (or team) to occupy every territory on the board wins the game and conquers the world.

Play at your own speed

Games are divided into rounds. Most game rounds last twenty-four hours or until all players have taken their turn. Most people play in one of two ways:

Slow

Many players login each morning, play a few turns and then don't come back to the game until the next day. Games can be paused for week-ends or vacation. There is an option to play turns on only weekdays.

Fast

The game can be played at a fast pace and resolved in a matter of minutes. The key to finishing games quickly is getting a group of like minded players who all want to participate in a real-time game. During certain times of the day, many players login and only play speed games.

Play using your web browser

The game is played entirely within your web browser. No plugins or extra downloads are required.

It is strongly recommended that the game be played with the Firefox internet browser. Firefox allows for the use of higher quality graphics. Also, as Grand Strategy uses a large amount of client side javascript, the game plays much faster while using Firefox.
